Those in humanity that experience little peace of mind often imagine that the whole World is made for their enjoyment and that everything and everybody in this wide Universe should serve their individual needs.
Do not try to extract enjoyment from this World. Can you extract nectar from a cobra’s fangs?! Extracting enjoyment from this World you will meet with disappointment, frustration, failure, misery as this World is ever changing. The enjoyments will eventually slip through your fingers. This World is not made for your pleasure.
Craving for objects becomes in the way of Realization. – Swami Sivananda
Understand the World for what it is. The World is a University. The World is made for your learning experience and for your spiritual evolution. Grow wiser and spiritually richer with every life experience. Surrender to God’s guidance. God has your best interest. The World has not.
Experience is education. Experience is the greatest teacher.
The scripture says: Anityam Asukham Lokam. Asasvatam Duhkhalayam – Impermanent and joyless, verily, is this World.
Read your scriptures with respect. Ever remember the seers’ teachings in the scriptures. Live by their teachings. This is the way to peace of mind.
Lastly, believe utterly in the Unreality of this World. Believe, because all the seers of yore have proclaimed that the phenomenal material World is only a Dream World and that phenomenal material experience is only a dream experience.
Remember, the seers teach us that only after personally experiencing the unreality of the World and the reality of Pure Consciousness. Even when confronted with bitter experience, tell yourself – “All this is Unreal. I am Pure Consciousness. I am God.”
